For West Cork Irish Whiskey , Lorient has become a special date in the calendar. After making a strong impression in 2024 and establishing our presence on the international stage, we were delighted to return this year to reconnect with old friends, meet new faces, and share our whiskeys with festival-goers. Since 1971, this annual 10-day festival has stood as the world’s largest gathering of Celtic nations and traditions – a place where cultures unite and the warmth of community can be felt on every street corner.
A highlight of the festival was the French launch of our Maritime Port Cask . With its sweet character of dried fruit balanced by subtle spice, it felt only fitting to introduce it in a city with such a rich maritime history – a perfect tribute to our Celtic connection.
Looking back on another successful year, we’re reminded why our relationship with Lorient means so much. Just as the festival celebrates Celtic nations coming together, West Cork Irish Whiskey is rooted in heritage and craft. We look forward to continuing this journey – and to raising a glass with our Celtic cousins again soon.
